Description
You, Me & The Universe springs from the deep recesses of my heart in times of solitary musings. These are not just words but my connect with everything which this universe encompasses. It is my umbilical source of energy which I draw from the universe and which powers my will to be one with everything that surrounds me. The poems reflect my emotions scripted with words weighted with meaning. Every time an experience brushed past my heart, it set it aflutter and out poured simple words. I tried to lend some depth to this simplicity. Every time the string of words was complete a beautiful poem was born. And from the poem shot forth feathery arrows of joy so that even when dark clouds hovered the joy dispelled the gloom they cast. The book will carry the readers on an emotional roller coaster ride through the universal experiences which all of us feel but very few register. Every poem is not a product of an overworked mind but a blossom, nurtured by every beat of my heart. When the world is rushing past at supersonic speed and time seems to just flit by, these poems force you to step back into a dimension where every small act, every small happening, every small moment is noticed and reflected upon. After all, what is life if not a sum total of moments lived, remembered, and treasured, My words might be small, my verse might be light but my intent is sincere and the interpretation of things which moved me is truest to my being. I hope my verses find permanent homes in your hearts.
About The Author
Mehak Sirohi is a spirited girl who loves to fantasize about worlds filled with redeemable demons and sinful angels. She takes inspiration from everything around her, from a casual conversation with a friend to a sappy rom-com, to the many hardships of the world and likes to turn her deepest of emotions into pieces of poetry. She tries to be passionate about everything she does and creates, giving it her complete devotion. Being an army brat she has had the opportunity to see different people and places from many different points of view. Her mother is her biggest inspiration and her father is her very own superhero. She loves to loose herself in the stories created by Pablo Neruda and John Keats and would consider being lost in Darcy’s or Mr. Rochester’s world a hobby. Mehak’s curious mind has the ability to take her to far off places to discover anything and everything she can, which is one of the many themes of this book. She started composing poems to create stories and unravel the many mysteries of the world especially her mind. At 16 Mehak has made her dream of publishing her very own book come true. With this book she has made the stories that are jumbled in her mind come alive by putting pen to paper. Writing poetry has changed her point of view as once she used to criticize this art that now she has come to fall in love with.
