I am sure each and every one of us, at some point in our lives, have wondered which career would suit us best.
Which work would give us that what we seek…. respect, satisfaction, status, money, etc?
Dentistry, I have realized is my calling. It takes time to build an ethical successful practice, which eventually will give you the respect of patients, status in society, satisfaction of helping people, and a good income.
In this handbook, I have passed on the knowledge gleaned through 15 years of practice & learning from seniors and colleagues. I hope that it will help you treat yourself and your patient right!
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Dr. Dhruv practices with Dr. Baliga, at Dr. Dhruv Dental Care, Indiranagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Dr. Dhruv believes dental practice is a service industry. He follows up on each case well, maintains extensive records of every patient & enjoys providing them with the best possible solution to their dental issues.
After having completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from M.R. Ambedkar Dental College, Bangalore in 2005, Dr. Dhruv gained extensive clinical experience at Manipal Hospital in Bangalore. He went on to do his Master’s in Oral Biology at the University Of Louisville, Kentucky, USA.
In 2009, he was granted a Ph.D. fellowship by the Integrated Program on Biomedical Sciences. During the course, he won an award for a poster presentation at the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology retreat.
In 2012, he returned to India to continue his clinical practice. In 2013, he joined 3M ESPE as Professional Services Head for South India alongside practicing clinical dentistry.
In 2014, started a private practice at G.G. Hospital and his own independent private practice at Dr. Dhruv Dental Care, 3 Defence Colony, Indiranagar, Bangalore, India in 2019. www.drdhruv.com Contact number: +91-8884757388. (For you, since 2005)
He also continues to honorarily practice with Dr. Baliga and Dr. Sam at the Manipal Hospital, old airport road, Bangalore, India; and was the Coinvestigator at, Manipal hospital for the Oral lichen planus (TCTP) project while observing in the Medical genetics department with Dr. Mitesh Shetty.
He is a life member of the Society of Oral LASER Applications (SOLA) and has acquired his Diploma from the SOLA Laser Academy in cooperation with the Bernhard Gottlieb University Clinic of Dentistry and passed the exam following the guidelines of the Austrian Dental Association, Bangalore, 2007.
He was the President of the Student Association of M.R. Ambedkar Dental College and also, founded and edited the Dental newsletter, Fenêtre with his other dental colleagues. He has given over 25 lectures across India. On August 11, 2015, he was awarded his Master of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics by the Medical School from the University Of Louisville, Kentucky, USA.
He has been on the panel of Kaplan test prep. Founder of R&D India Dental (Simplifying dental care), for OTC dental products to help the community www.randdindia.com.
