Description
This book is a tribute to the best and most important person of my life, my father, without whose blessings and support this book would have never become a reality. Wounded Wings was basically the idea of my parents which was brought to reality with the help of my sister. I, therefore, dedicate this book to my family, my friends and especially my teachers who have always encouraged me to explore my interest in writing. The main reason behind every poetry that has been compiled in this book is transparency of emotions. Each poetry in this collection is a segment of those emotions and feelings which are often left unexpressed. Every poem talks of a specific feeling that a person often fails to communicate. My expectation from this book is nothing more than being able to help a person to feel and realize the meaning of my words so as to help them embrace their real self covered with both scars and smiles. Maybe a poem from this collection could help someone release a burden of a few unsaid words and pains. Afterall, poems are not just a part of literature but in fact a piece of life, emotion, reality and simply humanity that can unfold a lot more secrets than anything else on earth. Wounded Wings refers to the wings of those lost souls who have forgotten to fly while existing in this fake world. This book shall act as the air of honesty beneath these aching wings and help them fly free of every burden and, most importantly, be real.
About the Author
Palak Sharma is a young student finding her way through the world. Her strength lies with her family and friends who have always encouraged her throughout her life. She began writing at the age of 15 and often wrote as a way of escaping the reality. Soon, this escape became her hobby that later developed into a passion for literature. Over the years, she has penned down over a few hundred poetries while experimenting with different structures and styles. Her ambition with writing is not to gain popularity but to inflict emotions that can keep the readers caught up for a moment and make them think about the things they have missed out while being in the rat race of this fast-paced world. Every poetry that has ever been written down by her has a story to lead to. The story can be anything- a past experience or a fraction of imagination- which is either true to the reader or herself. Nevertheless, she has poured her heart and soul out through her poetries dedicating each of it to a special purpose while dedicating all of it to her supportive family especially her beloved father.
