The author tries to deconstruct the oversimplified narration that only emphasizes on sectarian nature of the Syrian conflict by providing an overall picture of the conflict through multiple dynamics.

Md Amanullah Ansari is a postgraduate student at MMAJ Academy of International Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in English journalism from Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, New Delhi. Currently, he is working as an independent journalist and has written a number of articles on issues of national and international significance for various online websites. He has also presented papers at different seminars as well as contributed chapters in some books.
