ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Piyush H G Dessai has a Bachelor’s of Architecture from Goa college of Architecture and a Master’s of Planning (specialisation in Urban Planning) degree from the prestigious School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi (An institution of National Importance under an act of Parliament, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India) in the year 2021. He received an International Metropolitan Fellowship from the International Metropolitan Institute, Spain. Currently, he got selected as a FELLOW for the ‘Goa Chief Minister’s Fellowship’ program to do research and draft policies for the government in the field of Urban Reforms for the state of Goa.
He was also one of the ten Indian youth delegates selected by the National Youth Development Agency and the Project office of ‘INTERNATIONAL YOUTH COOPERATION’ to represent the ‘REPUBLIC OF INDIA’ at the BRICS INTERNATIONAL YOUTH SUMMIT in the ‘RUSSIAN FEDERATION’ in 2022. He was involved in the multi- lateral dialogue among the BRICS nations in promoting sustainable development goals and facilitating youth cooperation within the five countries. He was also selected for the INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF BRICS RESEARCH, Russia, in 2022 to promote and research in the field of BRICS political, economic and humanitarian issues and specific areas of five countries’ interaction. He has widely contributed and campaigned for the Sustainable development goals in these countries.
In 2023, he was selected to represent the ‘Republic of India’ at the Arctic Business School in the Karelia region of the Russian Federation. He was responsible for the contribution to the development of scientific competencies and professional communications of young researchers from Russia and India in interaction with the business community to promote the intellectual, scientific and business potential of Russia. He was also selected to represent the Republic of India in St. Petersburg at the ‘ASIAN DIALOGUE 2023’ to study the actual issues of the development of the eastern countries and to discuss the development of the South Asian countries and Russia’s role in the region. He widely contributed to strengthening the ties between India and Russia.
