Description
About The Book :
At forty-four, most people are told to play it safe. Rachana chose otherwise. The Long-Kept Promise: A 23-Year Road to Annapurna Base Camp is the story of a promise made two decades earlier and finally kept, one stone step at a time, through Kathmandu’s living goddess and sacred fires, a fever caught in a mountain storm, and four gruelling hours to the diamond snow of Annapurna Base Camp. It’s a memoir about perseverance, fleeting connections that leave lasting marks, and the truths that surface only at altitude, and a reminder that it’s never too late to chase a dream.
About The Author :
Rachana is a writer, traveller, entrepreneur and mountain enthusiast who carried a promise quietly in her heart for twenty-three years, and finally walked it home to Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 metres. The Long-Kept Promise: A 23-Year Road to Annapurna Base Camp is her personal chronicle of perseverance, teahouse warmth and the quiet grace found at high altitude. When she isn’t writing, she can usually be found in nature, with family and friends, or planning her next trail.
