Description
You already wear masks. This book teaches you to choose them.
What if the “fake it till you make it” advice everyone gives you is only half right — and the other half is what actually makes it work?
The Art of Becoming: The Illusion That Builds You is not another confidence book telling you to “just be yourself.” It’s a field-tested framework for becoming a version of yourself that different rooms actually need — without losing who you are underneath. Written by a young entrepreneur who built this system from the ground up (as a teenager navigating a new school, then a new city, then business), this book breaks down identity into something you can engineer: 42 chapters covering the Online Mask, the Interview Mask, the Leader Mask, the Crisis Mask, imposter syndrome, mask fatigue, emotional control, and a 30-day challenge to put it all into practice.
If you’ve ever felt like a different person at work, at home, online, and in a crisis — and wondered which one is real — this book gives you the answer: all of them, and none of them, and here’s how to run the system on purpose.
About The Author
Aryan Agrawal is the author of The Art of Becoming: The Illusion That Builds You, founder of Sunrise Exports Pvt. Ltd., Director of Aryan Public School, and a member of the RSB Educational Society. He was educated at the School of Luxury Retail, Mumbai.
Growing up, Aryan was more observer than participant — someone who paid closer attention to how people moved through a room than to trying to stand out in it. That habit of watching, studying, and adapting eventually turned into something deliberate: the realization that identity isn’t fixed, it’s built — and that the people who seem naturally confident have usually just learned to build theirs on purpose.
That mindset became a business, then a school, then a way of building relationships, closing deals, and adapting to rooms — classrooms, cities, boardrooms — at a pace most people twice his age haven’t had to match. Moving from a small city to Mumbai tested the theory at a bigger scale, and it held. What started as a sharp instinct for reading people slowly became a genuine philosophy: that becoming fluent in who you are across different rooms isn’t fake — it’s one of the most useful skills nobody ever formally teaches you.
The Art of Becoming is Aryan’s attempt to hand that philosophy to a generation navigating more masks than any before it — online, at work, at home, in rooms that change faster than anyone can keep up with — without a manual for any of it.
He writes the way he talks: direct, occasionally rough around the edges, and allergic to the idea that self-improvement has to sound like a lecture.
