About the book
“WHO estimates preterm birth affects 15 million babies every year worldwide, indicating global preterm birth rate of 11 percent. It contributes to 75 percent of the neonatal mortality worldwide. 70-80 percent of preterm birth are spontaneous resulting from preterm labor. With compiling clinical and basic evidence, we now have some treatment modalities to prevent the onset of labor. In spite of this, the incidence of preterm labor has not decreased. This book covers various aspects of preterm labor and delivery. Risk factor of preterm birth, pathogenesis, complications associated with preterm. This book also covers how long tocolysis should be used and timing of delivery in case of PPROM. Hopefully this book will help understand all the caregivers in the management of preterm labor and its complications.
About the author
Author Dr Pooja Sharma is a consultant Govt. Medical college Jammu. She did her MD from GMC Jammu in 2015 and completed her senior residency from same college. She also worked in Government medical college Tanda. She has keen interest in high-risk obstetrics and gynae oncology
Dr Sachit sharma is a consultant Pulse hospital Jammu. He did his post-graduation in pediatrics from GMC Jammu and completed his senior residency. He has keen interest in neonatology.
