ABOUT THE BOOK
This is a manual for Community Health Workers to understand how to provide brief intervention to women in perinatal and postpartum period. It describes a brief psychological intervention for common mental disorders – Depression, Anxiety and Substance Use Disorder. The standardized therapy, based on principles of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, has been modified for use by Community Health Workers. This book is meant as a guide to CHWs who have been working in the field of mental health.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Dr. Systla Rukmini is working as a Clinical Psychologist in St John’s Medical College Hospital, Bengaluru. She has completed her MPhil in Clinical Psychology and PhD in the same field from NIMHANS. Her research interests are in community mental health, integrative therapy, individual therapy processes, Cognitive Behaviour therapy and Third wave therapies. She has worked on outreach programs for stress management and organized first aid for mental health programs.
