ABOUT THE BOOK
Words are magic; like pebbles they fall into the river of our soul creating ripples, like drugs they rush into our blood and breathe air into the forgotten places, like wind they carry us little by little to build worlds that don’t exist and like love they turn into bridges and also the chasms between two hearts.
An unsuspecting letter sent to a stranger turns into a story about love lurking in unlikely places; a story of human foibles, human miseries and human triumph. This epistolary novel explores the isolation that each one of us feels until we are touched by words. It celebrates the transformative power of love, hope and words. It shows us how the illusion created by the written word is sometimes necessary to hide the empty spaces, to make our heart a little bigger, to make us see a little more clearly and to fill the silences such that life does not lose its moorings.
At the spine of the novel is a love story; a puzzle of words, a game of hide and seek, a gamble of winning and losing, a thrill of inventing beautiful things and telling those things to ourselves.
