About the book
Dr. Arjun Y. Pangannavar’s book “Bharatiya Mahan Chintakaru: Valmiki, Gandhi, Ambedkar” is research work, in Kannada, on the ideologies of the great Indian thinkers—Valmiki, Gandhi, Ambedkar; it focuses on the thoughts of these great thinkers regarding Piety and Religion, social, political, economic, justice legacy and their comparative studies. The book has four chapters, first chapter focused on the biography of Valmiki, Gandhi and Ambedkar, comprising of the ups and downs, struggle, marital life, preaching and practice, contribution and their public life of these thinkers; the second chapter focused on their thoughts on Piety and Religion, social, political, economic and justice legacy; and third chapter focused on comparative study, overview and concluding finding on life, practice, thoughts, contribution, ideologies and the differences of opinion and approach of these great Indian thinkers. Under the present circumstance such studies are necessary to transmit the true knowledge to stop the hate speeches, unparliamentary remarks and generating of literature that harms communal harmony. The book is useful to the common readers, scholars, students, and researchers. It could also be a good reference book to researchers who is doing research on Indian Great Thinkers.
About the author
Prof, Dr. Arjun Y Pangannavar is a versatile writer in Kannada and English language. He was born on 29th June 1951 at Gokak-Falls in labor-class tribal family. Shri Yallappa Pangannavar and Smt Holhevva were his parents; He studied Economics, English and Kannada Literature at graduation level and MA & PhD in economics. He started his lecturer career from 1977 and retired (2011) as Associated Professor of Economics and Principal (2014) from a reputed graduate-colleges. He is guide to PhD research scholars from Bharathiar University Coimbatore (TN) India—one is awarded PhD. Kannada University Hampi, Karnataka has nominated him as a member of Advisory Committee, The Chair of Valmiki Studies. Micro-finance, women empowerment, rural development, and economic issues are the special area of his research. He has presented research papers in national and international seminars, conferences and published in national and international journals, 11 research works in ResearchGate wherein 60+ thousand scholars, researchers and professors read and share his work world-wide; his works have been cited in a good number of theses and research papers, world-wide. He writes articles regularly for Kannada-monthly ‘Valmiki Karnataka’. He authored 26 books, including economics and literature. “Shrimad Valmiki Ramayana Maha-Kaavya Darshanm (Part-1, 2 & 3)” is his great contribution. Now his book on “Bharatiya Mahan Chintakaru: Valmiki, Gandhi, Ambedkar” research work in Kannada focuses on the ideologies of these Indian Great Thinkers regarding Piety and Religion, social, political, economic, justice legacy and their comparative studies.
