“Kechokche Komat” is a book containing 20 short stories in Karbi. The stories herein are all outcome of the author’s fictional creation, and if any of the stories have any resemblance the incidents in anybody’s life, it would only be co-incidence. The environment and situation in the stories are the places in and around Diphu, the hometown of the author. The purpose which the author feels in bringing out this book is bring before the people, especially the in his own tribe Karbi, the situation in which they are in this present age, those little but very important parts of life which they have began to ignore in the quest for something great and big. Almost, those some of the stories, the readers may re-live some the incidents of the past.

About The Author

Welsing Hanse (born on 13th March, 1990) is a post-graduate from the Department of English, Assam University Diphu Campus (AUDC) and a permanent resident of Upper Hapjan Diphu, Karbi Anglong. He began his school education from a village Govt. L.P. school (Sarlok Hanse L.P School) then he moved to the town and joined Badan Memorial English School where he studied till sixth standard (from 1996-2013). Later was made to study in Covenant High School, Birla, and from here he passed his matriculation exam in 2008. Before joining AUDC for his Post-graduation, he did his intermediate and Under Graduate from Diphu Govt. College. Welsing is the eldest of the six siblings of the family. He has three brothers (Songja, Jirjar & Jirdat) and two sisters (Purthimi & Dengmir). His career as a teacher began in 2015 when he joined the newly extended Dillai Higher Secondary School, of which he cherishes valuable memories. Presently he is serving as a Subject Teacher at Diphu Govt. Boys Higher Secondary, Diphu. He is the chairman of Jambili Literary Foundation (JLF), a team of youths working to encourage the youths towards literature. His hobbies include reading and writing short-stories and poems. He is also a member of Karbi Lammet Amei and also Centre for Karbi Studies. His poems have been included in the book Hirji Rimburi Vol. I, II & III. He had also contributed his stories in the anthology “Child of the Hills”.
