English is taught from Std. I in all schools. While students of English medium schools are fluent in speaking English, many students in vernacular medium cannot speak and read English even in std. X. They are scared of English, although many of them are talented who because of their weaknesses in English, cannot pursue higher education, many are dropped out before std. X.
Many English medium students are seen to have illegible handwriting.
In this book ‘ENGLISH FOR ALL” , the reason for weaknesses have been analyzed and solutions are given which are follows:
i) English teaching should start with conversation; Reading, Writing will come later.
ii) English should be taught in English, without translation, by showing pictures or expression.
iii) English book should be written only in English, no translation or regional language script
should be used.
iv) Handwriting should follow a particular method.
“ENGLISH FOR ALL” is written keeping in mind the the above factors. It is fully written in English, no regional script is used. 1 st chapter for beginners, which will train students for conversation before they learn alphabets. 2 nd chapter Handwriting. 3 rd chapter Reading and Spelling method. 4 th chapter conversation. 5 th chapter Grammar.
“ENGLISH FOR ALL” is for the ALL ROUND DEVELOPMENT OF ENGLISH of students from
ALL STRATA, OF ALL AGES.
About the Author
Dr. Asim Kumar Maiti, Ph.D. is a scientist, did research in IACS, Kolkata, recipient of DAAD fellowship for Post Doctoral research in University of Mainz, Germany, Post Doctoral Research Fellow at University of Valencia, Spain, University of Windsor, Canada. He has published 24 papers in journals and books of national and international repute. He has published two articles, i) “C.V. Raman, life and Raman effect“ ii) “Global position of India in Scientific Research”, in BREAKTHROUGH – A Journal on Science and society from Kolkata. Presently he is engaged in manufacturing Analytical Instruments for Research Institutes, Universities, and Colleges to encourage “MAKE IN INDIA”.
