CONCEPTS OF APPAREL MANUFACTURING

Description

This book aims to offer an extensive understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects required in each division of the apparel manufacturing process beginning from the selection of raw material to manufacturing, finishing, quality control till the delivery of the products. The book is divided into three parts. Part I deals with the raw material i.e. selection of fabrics and its properties required for manufacturing of apparels. Part II gives an overview of the different departments of the apparel manufacturing along with the details of the types, embellishments and enrichment techniques used in garments. The final Part III discusses the finishing of apparels with inspection of final goods in order to control their quality.

About The Author

Dr. Jyoti Bhasin Chaudhry is M.Sc. Home science (Textiles and Clothing) from Delhi University and Ph.D. Home Science (Clothing & textiles) from Banasthali Vidyapeeth. Currently, she is working as Jr. Consultant in the School of Retail and Fashion Merchandise in Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), Noida, (Institute of National Importance), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India. Dr. Jyoti has 14 years of teaching experience. She has published more than 10 articles in national and international journals and presented papers at national and international conferences. She is a member of the Textile Association of India (TAI) and Home Science Association of India (HSAI).
