Directional drilling and surveys help guide wellbores accurately toward planned subsurface targets, while perforation techniques create flow channels between the reservoir and the wellbore to improve production. Well productivity is influenced by factors such as shot density, perforation penetration, angular phasing, wellbore damage, and crushed zones. Modern reservoir analysis has become more complex due to heterogeneous formations, shale layers, and natural fractures, making computer-based modelling increasingly important. The book introduces key concepts of reservoir and production engineering along with drilling, well logging, cementing, mud logging, formation evaluation, safety, health, and environmental practices.

Dr. Dilip K. Baishya is an accomplished professional with wide ranging expertise in both academic and oil-gas industry. He has authored many articles in English for newspapers, magazines, and well-known scientific journals both in national and international. He has authored a few books for use in oil and gas sectors that reflect his expensive understanding in simple language as a technical expert. He has specially published an important book named “A Beginner Book on Petroleum Industry” in 2022 to understand about the oil-gas industry for the general peoples.
With over three decades of experiences in leading roles, Dr. Baishya has vast knowledge in practical and theoretical pertaining to oil and gas sectors.
