Description
14GCS is, arguably, first of its kind sports book acknowledging the defeats on the cricket field and celebrating the gains from the pains of losses. The book is written from the perspective of an Indian fan growing up in the 90’s. Just like on the cricket field all 14 members of the squad – playing and non-playing play their part in the outcome of a game, in 14GCS all the 14 “#CricPain” stories told attempt to create an impact in their own way.
About the Author
Tamal Kanti Mukherjee who hails from the city of Kolkata is a man with a perfect balance. A perfect balance between his personal and professional lives – because he believes to be a perfect failure in both. Tamal failed in everything he tried his hands at since his childhood days. Tamal dragged himself to somehow complete his basic education in Bachelor of Technology and Master of Business Administration. In his eleven years of corporate life, he has been seen hopping out of six organizations. He had been rejected by industries like IT, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, E-commerce and M-commerce, presently struggling as the Zonal Revenue Strategy Head of a leading Indian MNC in Hospitality sector. Tamal’s debut novel ‘(Un)systematic’, a cheesy campus story, had received a lot of curse and bashing from the readers who chose to ignore the title of the book and dared to purchase it. The only thing which helped him to keep going is watching cricket – watching cricket passionately and that’s how ’14 Gainful Cricket Stories’ happened. Being a veteran in the subject of failure, Tamal is hopeful about the success of this book on failures which explores the life and emotions of a 90’s Indian cricket fan very closely.
