About the Author
M.B. Sharan, Ph.D. is Ex-Professor of Psychology of the Department of Humanities & Social Sciences, IIT, Kharagpur where he taught psychology and management courses to undergraduate and postgraduate students for more than three decades. During this period, he headed the Department twice and served on various Committees of the IIT, UGC, and UPSC. In 1990, he also went to Seattle to present his paper in an International Conference organized by the National Council on Family Relations. Before joining IIT in 1975, he worked as a Lecturer in Psychology for more than 10 years at Patna College, Patna and at T.N.B. College, Bhagalpur. After retirement from IIT, Kharagpur service in 2005, he served as Dean (Academic) and Principal at Rourkela Institute of Management Studies, Rourkela, Emeritus Professor at PIET, Rourkela, and Senior Professor at IIT, Patna till 2014. He has published five books (and this is the sixth one) and a good number of articles in national and international journals. In addition to teaching and research, he has been organizing short-term courses on Interpersonal Skills, Employability Skills, Study and Teaching Skills, Building Relationships, Look Younger and Live Longer, etc. from time to time. Right now, he and his wife, Savita Sharan are taking care of a village School, Shri Sita Ram Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Walipur (Dist. Sitamarhi, Bihar), founded by them in 2002 for village children. He was President of the National Academy of Psychology (NAOP) for the year 2006-07. His biography figures in the 8th edition of “Who’s Who in the World”.
