ABOUT THE BOOK

The Soulful journey is about the journey of a young docile girl. Her life was full of turmoil during her prime youth. The state of Jammu and Kashmir was reeling under terrorism which made it difficult for the denizens to live there and her family was no exception. This book has various shades like love, romance, misery tragedy displacement, and distress. Despite the difficulties faced by the community they stayed united and were forced to live in tents, migrant camps and makeshift arrangements. Kashmir once called Switerzland of India, turned into hell when the locals got involved in anti-national activities and forced the pandit community to flee their homes where their ancestors had lived for ages. During the summer seasons, people from all over the world used to visit Kashmir and enjoyed to see snow clad mountains, Charchinari, Harvan, Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Nishat Bhag, and the Famous Shankaracharya temple. It used to be the destination for shooting of all the major Bollywood cinemas which included the famous song “Jai Jai Shiv Shankar” enacted by the famous star cast like the legendary Rajesh Khanna and Mumtaz and the shooting of films like Karma starring Dilip Kumar Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, films like ‘Kashmir Ki Kali’ ‘Sangam’ and others.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Currently working as Assistant Professor with Amity University, Anita Shekhar has a passion for reading and teaching students. She believes that live examples are the best way to make the students understand any subject. She has been into teaching for nearly seventeen years and has always emphasised real-life teaching and coaching.
Born and brought up in Srinagar, she did her schooling at Convent School, which provided her with a sound foundation in English.  Anita aspired to be a good communicator and counsellor in her life. She strongly believes that communication is the best medium to connect with people.
