ABOUT THE BOOK
“How many single people have you interacted with while growing up? The traditional family setup in our society prefers to sideline, and if possible, do away with the very existence of unmarried individuals and divorcees. Everyone simply has to couple up!
Consequently, modern-day financially independent singles face society’s piercing comments overflowing with sarcasm and stereotypes all the time. Occasions, festivals, and even renting and insurance scenarios are biased against them. So, what does one do?
Mahira, our middle-class, middle-aged, independent single woman, and her single friends decide that they need to redefine the concept of a family unit. They have all gone through relationship and marriage churns and just want to remain blissfully single for their remaining life.
However, every middle-aged single person comes with their own emotional baggage of past traumas. Will this initiative ever work? What will they have to endure in the process? Read The Single Innings to find out how, in this journey filled with twists and turns, they are able to carve out their own place of contentment in society.”
