Description
The Radiance of Dwarka is an epic poem that captures some of the key events from Lord Krishna’s life, as known from the epic Mahabharata, the Vishnu Purana, and other references. In more than 500 stanzas, the poem beautifully depicts the story of Shantanu and Satyavati, the birth of the Pandavas, the swayamvar of Draupadi, Lord Krishna’s marriages with Rukmini, Satyabhama, and Jambavati, and the killing of evil kings such as Narakasur, Rukmi, and Paundrak. The final event in the book revolves around the Lord meeting His earthly parents once again, along with the Gopis, the Pandavas, and several saints, at the holy city of Kurukshetra. Each stanza has four lines with alternate lines rhyming, and every line has exactly eight syllables, celebrating the Lord’s birth on the eighth day of the lunar calendar. The book also includes a Prologue and an Epilogue, and every event begins with a couplet.
