Description
This book is about the journey of Aariz, who was a college teacher recently posted in a small coastal town called Lal Ganj. He is a man of principle and never compromises on wrongdoing, discipline, or injustice. On his first day at college, he thrashed a minister’s son, who was seriously injured and admitted to the hospital. He did not know the power of the minister. Aariz’s son-in-law forced him to leave the country to save his and his family’s lives. They boarded a small boat from an abandoned coastal side of Lal Ganj. From the small boat, they transferred to a cargo ship and reached the UK illegally. But they had no idea that their life as illegal immigrants would be a nightmare for them. Aariz struggles to get a job and to arrange food and accommodation for his family due to his illegal status. They were compelled to live on the roads, where they faced severe hunger and intolerable cold. Their two-year-old daughter died because of the severe cold. An old man living with other illegal immigrants on the streets became their friend. He gave them food once in a while. After Aariz lost his daughter, he decided to join the mafia in order to survive. It is a heart-wrenching story based on the lives of illegal immigrants.
