ABOUT THE BOOK

Shaktipāt is an ancient technique in Hinduism, which is considered an act of divine grace of Supreme Power through a guru. It is an instant one-way transmission of Divine spiritual energy from a Siddha Guru (competent spiritual master) to a deserving disciple. Shaktipāt is an exclusive yoga technique applied for the awakening of dormant kundalini shakti. Shaktipāt is not an independent yoga system. However, it is the mother of all yoga techniques known to mankind. Shaktipāt will awaken the Guru consciousness in the disciple that is already present within the recipient.
“Shaktipāt-Deeksha (initiation)” was first preached by Lord Shiva and has been in existence ever since. It is said in Ramayana that, the Shaktipāt was performed on Lord Rama by his guru Maharishi Vasishtha. By transfer of energy (Shaktipāt) Lord Krishna granted divine vision to Arjuna, who then could see the Virat-Rupa and Vishwa-Rupa of Lord Krishna. Swami Ramakrishna Paramahansa graced with Shaktipāt to Shri Vivekananda with the spiritual power by merely a touch, which led Vivekananda to achieve his life’s ultimate goal of Self-Realization.
The reception of Shaktipāt cannot be forced through; the recipient must be open to such an influx. Guru is the manifestation of supreme divine power in a Self-realized human form. The Guru simply acts as a channel to transmit this Divine Spiritual Energy to the deserving disciple so that there is no difference between the consciousness of the Guru, disciple, and that of the Divine after the Shaktipāt.
