ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I live at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, in a large family of ten encompassing three generations. A doctor- a pathologist to be specific- my mind has never been empty of a story or two for as far back as I can remember. They have been my solace during boring school sessions, long waits in doctor’s lounges, my travel companions, as well as, my way of coping with nightmares and questions without answers that haunt me regularly (like, what’s beyond the outer edge of the universe? Where does space end? Etc.,). But, writing them down never really occurred to me. In fact, my first foray into writing was a poem, in my 9th grade, which got published in the Hindu Young World, then another, for a national level competition, which bagged a highly commended certificate. Stories though, were a completely different matter. The minute a story reaches its end in my mind, I would lose interest, and start a new one, thus, leaving behind multiple half-finished ones. After my children came into my life, I started telling them short stories during meal times and bed times. I found that remembering these and writing them down the next day was easier. My interest in teaching my kids to live sustainably, has also inspired a few stories.
