Padeni Days contains eight short stories .
“Life Comes Full Circle” is a bold theme covering the travails of an ordinary Keralite caught in the wrong winds since the lungi hatao days in the then Bombay to the present day atmosphere prevalent in the metro city vis-à-vis that at Kerala. “Bhim Nagar ka Raja” is a theme familiar with the life of a Chawl-dweller who becames a crooked businessman in the City of Dreams. While “A Tale of Two ‘P’s” is a typical present-day happenings in a Housing Complex in Mumbai, the fourth story “Literacy Jihad” takes you though the interesting narratives of a vernacular literacy field today. “Murder at Masoodpur” is a story reflecting the backyards of the national capital city, Delhi.
“Sakhavu Roars” has a background which is not known to the other parts of the country except in certain parts of God’s Own Country, “Kuttappayi’s Plight” takes you to the happening in a village down South in Kerala. “Padeni Days” is the beautiful fictional recreation of a traditional temple art festival prevalent in Travancore.
Thus, meant to create a mix of nostalgic and present-day feelings in the minds of readers.
