ABOUT THE BOOK
This book is intended for learners with fundamental knowledge of Structural Analysis and STAAD Pro. Stiffness method is usually recognized as matrix method. The stiffness method is useful to computer programming and is widely used for structural analysis of continuous beams, Plane and Space Trusses, and Plane Frame and Plane Grids.
The prominence in the book is on describing fundamentals of stiffness approach to solve the structural analysis problems. Use of numbering the joints and members to solve the complex Structural Engineering problems associated to Analysis of structures has been demonstrated. The transformation of forces and displacement from local axes to global axes and vice versa is thoroughly explained in this book. The final output of analysis are explained in terms of shear force and bending moment diagrams, which are useful for structural designing aspects.
This book is useful for undergraduate students of Civil Engineering and postgraduate students of Structural Engineering and for those preparing for Civil Engineering competitive examinations.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Dr. Uday P. Waghe did his PhD from Nagpur University in 2008. He has about 36 years of teaching experience. He has published more than 48 papers in reputed refereed international journals and conferences and attended many national and international conferences in the capacity of session chair. He is a member of various professional bodies like The Institution of Engineers (India), IWRS, ISTE etc. Presently he is working as a Professor and Principal at Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering, Wanadongri, Nagpur. Under his leadership, Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering is the first private engineering college to acquire “Autonomous Status” in Central India, received ISTE National Award 2014 for being the “Best Private Engineering College” and also received NAAC A++ grade in 2022. He has also received the “Best Principal” award by RTM Nagpur University in year 2016.
Dr. Sanjay Padmakar Raut did his B.E. (Civil Engg.) and M.Tech (Structures) from Nagpur University in 1997 and 2004, respectively. He did his PhD from Dept. of Civil Engg., VNIT, Nagpur in November 2014. He has about 25 years of teaching experience. He has published more than 32 papers in reputed refereed international journals and conferences and attended many national and international conferences in the capacity of the session chair. He is a member of various professional bodies like The Institution of Engineers (India), ISTE etc. Presently he is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering, Wanadongri, Nagpur.
Mr. Dhiraj Giridharilal Agrawal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering, Wanadongri, Nagpur. He is graduated in Civil Engineering from RTM Nagpur University in 2008. He has obtained M. Tech (Structural Engineering) with a Gold Medal. from Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering affiliated with RTM Nagpur University in 2012. He has authored more than 26 papers in international journals and conferences and attended many national and international conferences. He has about 10 years of teaching and industrial experience. He is a member of The Institution of Engineers (India).
