About the book
“Lost In A Kaleidoscope is Mahika’s debut collection of poetry and prose. It is an ode to a place called ‘home’. It talks about the feeling of belongingness, the longing for a place to call your own, and other emotions that no one talks about. It is split into 10 units (mentioned below), each serving a different purpose and depicting a different phase and emotion.
• UNIT I: I LEFT A PLACE CALLED “HOME”
• UNIT II: SEARCH FOR HOME
• UNIT III: IS HOME A PERSON?
• UNIT IV: DEAR STRANGER
• UNIT V: DROWNING IN THE BLUES
• UNIT VI: STILL SEARCHING…
• UNIT VII: NO TITLES, JUST VIBES
• UNIT VIII: HOPE IN DIFFERENT FORMS
• UNIT IX: AM I HOME?
• UNIT X: YESTERDAY THE MOON SPOKE TO ME
It also contains black and white doodles and sketches paired with poetry pieces. It talks about what home was, and what home became. About what was felt while searching for a place where a heart can finally rest. About finding a home in a heartbeat and finding it amidst a foreign land. It contains letters to a stranger, who seems to be someone familiar, and stories that the moon narrates at 2 AM. It tries its best to put the eccentric feelings felt by a heart every time it was touched by love, fear, tragedy, beauty, hope and moonlight, into words.”
