LET THERE BE LIGHT – A Diwali Story’ is a fun, heartwarming Deepavali holiday book. The story revolves around five main characters (Pasumans aka Anthropomorphic beings) in the fictitious lands of ‘Vajra Dvipa’. The story itself is set on Diwali day, showcasing the various traditions of the festival and how these five get together to celebrate it. During the celebrations, they become a part and cause of some not-so-good experiences and how they overcome those while discovering the true essence of the festival, forming the story’s crux.
The book is crafted as a middle-grade novella, primarily catering to ages 8-14, but older teens and adults might find it to be an enjoyable read as well.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Siva K. C. Penamakuru was born and raised in the Telugu lands of Southern India. He moved to the U.S. in 2005 for his master’s education and now lives there with his family. If not working at his day job as a software professional, Siva spends most of his time with his family reading books, cooking and exploring new cuisines/recipes, and traveling. Festivals and holidays became a crucial part of Siva’s cultural moorings growing up, which he cherishes to date. Let There Be Light – A Diwali Story is one such attempt to share his love for the festival of Deepavali with the larger world.
