Description
“Jai Jai Aunty” is the fourth novel by author Prakash Chandra Jain. The narrative of the novel revolves around the life journey of the “third gender” or kinnars, who bear the mark of bodily incompleteness from the moment of birth. Due to biological uncertainty, the pain arising from the lack of harmony between their physical appearance and inner emotions deeply affects them. Along with this inner conflict, society’s tendency to detach itself from these living beings called kinnars continues to torment them throughout their lives.
Despite carrying the agony of exclusion and displacement, they hide their wounds and strive to survive by clapping, singing, and dancing during auspicious ceremonies and festive occasions.
About The Author
Born in the small village of Singhudi (Katni) in Madhya Pradesh, Prakash Chandra Jain is the former Assistant General Manager of Central Bank of India. After completing his M.A. in Hindi Literature and Prakrit, he dedicated himself to writing and translating Hindi Literature, Prakrit, and Jain Studies.
He has authored two books—“Prakrit Literature and Introduction to Jainism” and “Matadin Ka Kurta evam Anya Kahaniyan”. Additionally, his translated work “Jainism: Life with Vigilance” (Hindi to English) has also been published. He has been honored with a Gold Medal in Hindi Literature along with several national awards in the banking sector.
