Description

Indian English writing has evolved into a vibrant and diverse literary landscape, reflecting the country’s complex history, cultures, and voices. This collection of critical essays focuses on the works of prominent Indian writers in English, examining their themes, styles, and contributions to the literary canon.
The essays in this volume offer fresh insights into the narratives of writers like Girish Karnad, Kamala Markandaya, Shashi Despande, Arupa Patingia, Nissim Ezekiel, Nayantara Sahgal, Vijay Tendulkar, Bama and Imayam exploring their engagement with identity, culture, politics, and the human experience. By critically analyzing these writers, I aim to deepen understanding of Indian English literature and its place in global contexts.
