Description
The poems in the volume speak of Nature− man’s place in it and in relation to other vital elements of it−they speak in symbols that have significance to this our humble, human life. They bear a sense of the spiritual, of God’s presence and meaning in our lives, which seems almost lost and forgotten in the frenzy of a restless world. They bring solace to the tiring and heavy heart, that has lost its way in the maze of a meaningless existence. The crevices, the deep gorge, the cliffs, the leaves, the rain, so blessed, so benevolent on a dry lonely heart, the birds, the streams and rills, all that is organic and meaningful in our lives is touched upon. Some poems also play upon more contemporary political and social chords, war, violence, terrorism, injustice. Some also reflect on the process of creating poetry itself. Some address different aspects of the emotion of love, that ubiquitous emotion that still keeps us going. The more recent spectre of the pandemic has found voice in some poems, musing on it from a philosophical/ metaphysical view. Overall, they are sporadic yet spontaneous musings that a lonely heart spawns out, musings that will wrap up the reader in an intimate bonding−one to one−yet universal.
