ABOUT THE BOOK

The book is a short introduction of the process of Globalization. An attempt has been made to explain the process with respect to its definition, features, origin, theories and impact. The book also devotes some portion to describe the criticisms of globalization in context to movements against the process.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Dr. Shweta Shukla is a Gold Medalist in Sociology from the University of Lucknow. She did her Masters in Sociology and M.Phil from the University of Lucknow. Being a topper in M.A. and M.Phil, she also received Chancellor’s Medal for being the best P.G. Student in the year 2008. She qualified for the NET/J.R.F examination in 2009 and completed her Doctorate in Philosophy from the University of Lucknow.
Currently she is working as an Assistant Professor and has a rich teaching experience of 14 years. Dr. Shukla has developed E- Content Module on “Anti Globalization Movement: The World Social Forum, Ant-WTO and Occupy Movement” as a part of UGC E-pathshala. She is also involved in developing e- contents for the Uttar Pradesh Digital Library and has delivered content for IGNOU SWAYAM PRABHA. In the endevour to update her knowledge and information she keeps participating and organizing the Faculty Development Programmes. She has also Completed Two Weeks Interdisciplinary Refresher Course with grade A+ on Advanced Research Methodology organized from July 31st to August 9th, 2023 by the Teaching Learning Centre, Ramanujan College, University of Delhi under the Aegis of Ministry of Human Resource Development Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching. She has been active in presentations, participations and organizing Seminars, Webinars, Workshops and Conferences at National and International level. She has published research articles and book chapters in various journals of national and international repute. She enjoys her profession and takes initiatives to add on additional responsibilities on her shoulders. She has been invited as a resource person to deliver lectures at various events and organizations and has also been appointed as an Academic Counselor at IGNOU. She is also the recipient of E-Learning Excellence Award at Shri Ramswaroop Memorial University, Lucknow for the academic year 2019-20 and 2022-23.
