This book titled Gender, Identity and Caste Politics: A Critical Reading of Indian Writings in English captures the philosophy, essence, and ethos of the subalterns who are subjugated in terms of caste, gender, and class and explores the discourses on caste and gender identity through literary engagement. The twenty-five articles enlisted in this volume present an enriching reading experience in its literary analysis of texts. Most of the articles recorded in this book address issues pertaining to caste-based oppression and marginalization, gender inequality, and emerging Dalit sensibility and resistance.
About the author
Dr. Sanjay N. Shende has been working as Assistant Professor of English in Shree Shivaji Arts, Commerce & Science College, Rajura, Maharashtra for last 20 years. He has also completed a UGC minor research project on English language Teaching. He has organized three National/International seminars and conferences on NAAC and ELT. He has authored a book on English Language Teaching and Medium of Instruction and has edited five books. His books have been published from Germany and India.
Dr. Premila Swamy D is presently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Humanities, M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore. She has 14 years of teaching experience in higher education institutes of repute. Apart from publishing numerous research papers in reputed journals, she has co-authored a book on Communicative Skills for Engineers. She has also co-edited two books on subaltern studies in Indian Writings in English. Her single-authored book on Manju Kapur: A Postmodern Critical Reading is under publication.
Dr. Gousia Sultana is working as an Assistant Professor of English in the Department of Mathematics and Humanities, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology, Gandipet, Hyderabad, Telangana. She did her doctoral degree from Kakatiya University on the novels of Amitav Ghosh. Apart from qualifying SET (2015) in English, she was the university topper in her Masters degree. She has 12 publications to her credit. She is one of the coordinators of Skill & Personality Development Training for the year 2020-21 sponsored by AICTE, New Delhi.
