Description

“The story picks up as a continuation of Golden Wings.

It displays the scene with him and her gazing together upon the rushing artery of life of the City. He understands why the city exists. They then walk back and he begins a new life in her world he newly discovered in Golden Wings. He begins his learning along with her students. He becomes acquainted with her students and sits amongst them. She is a great teacher and instructs them on many subjects – subjects he was never introduced to in his old concrete world, subjects he was a complete beginner in. They were chess, dance, music, oratory and literature skills. These along with the life skills, farming and sports, he is understanding his beginner status even though the children are a few years younger. They are very mature, sophisticated and have acutely designed social understandings of each other and their teacher. He is taken aback by this and he also cannot gain nearness to the teacher like he thought he would gain.

He in his demise and realizations of his newness, leaves. He resides into the slum region, the middle portion of the world or city and finds a shack, makes a home in a small hovel. He resides in there in utter depression. He felt forgotten, unimportant, he realized the elite beneath the behavior and culture of the place he was in, in her world. It was her elite world he simply could not fit into.

He stays in the hovel and is discovered by a group of slum boys. He is given a chance to be a part of their survivalism within the slum. He proves to be at the level they require and he begins to do menial work for them in order to get food. He also secretly steals food from the region of green from where he came from. He steals the food at night when there’s barely enough light, but he is also fed by the gang of boys. He is running around doing errands for the gang and realizes that there is no way out. He no longer wishes to be a part of the gang. All the while, in stealing the clean fruits and vegetables, he accidentally made a pile of compost inside his little hovel. There was a slit in the roof where a ray of the sun could beam upon the soil. He discovers a small green stem growing from the ground. He could not believe his eyes! He accidentally planted seeds when he was stealing the fruit and placing the remains unto the ground. He was shocked and glad at the same time. When he discovers this, he is rediscovered by the gang of boys he abandoned and was badly beaten by them. They also stomp on his green stem, destroying it. They grab the soil and fling the soil with more possible seeds in to the river, the main artery which ran through the slum. He watched them do this and laugh.
He completely gives up, he just runs back home. Not to the green world, not to the hole in the slum, but his parent’s home in the concrete world. He is lucky and he gains back entrance into his old home. But he has nothing to do. He in comfortable, yes, he is safe, but he had no motives, no purpose. After a few days, after he is healed, after realizing the quiet emptiness, he runs back to the slum – again. He recalled everything, he remembered why he left home in the first place and went back to the river in the slum world in broad daylight, he gets his body down to the river banks, climbs down the flight of stairs of trash and to his absolute shock, sees a small group of green stems that looked exactly like the one he found in his little hole. The soil the boys threw in the river was filled with seeds. The seeds grew in the sewer ridden river banks. The excretions from the rover were perfect soil for the plants to grow. Understand what he does to sustain the life of the green until the final ultimatum arrives and his actualization is seen. This is the view of a child who became revived through the plants which were grown from the underworld of dirt – meant to be destroyed and forgotten.
