Further, this book is different from other traditional grammar books which emphasise mechanical and manipulative drill with selected grammatical structures. On the contrary, grammatical points have been contextualised in this book without focusing much on mere grammatical drill (naked grammar). The book is useful to both the students intending to develop their linguistic competence in academics which test their grammatical skills and those intending to develop their communicative competence in English to convey meanings in different social contexts. ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Panchanan Duria is an ELT Consultant and Practitioner. He is the founder of English Support Mission (ESM), which is devoted to Empowering the Rural Youth with English language education and 21st century skills. He teaches English at R.C. College Kodinga, Nabarangpur (Odisha). He has 20 years of teaching experience. He has received his M.A. and M. Phil (English) from Govt. Autonomous College, Bhabanipatna and Sambalpur University and his PGDTE and PGDCE from EFL University, Hyderabad and University of Hyderabad. He has also done PPELT from British Council. He has also done FDP from Amity University, Tashkent and NIT, Trichy, Tamil Nadu. His specializations include English for Specific Purposes (ESP), Teacher Training, Vocabulary Teaching, Sociolinguistics, Applied Linguistics, Translation, Folklore, Communicative English, Teaching English to Tribal Students and Tribal Education. He has also presented papers both in national and international conferences and has published articles in UGC CARE Listed journal. He has also written a CBSE textbook (Ripples (MCB-8): An Integrated Course in English) for Future Kids Publications. He has also edited a book: Explorer: A Book on Essential Life Skills. He is a trained NSS Programme Officer.
