Book on “Endometrial Cells in Pap Smear” is a much needed comprehensive atlas based guide for residents and practitioners in Dept. of Pathology as well as Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Endometrial carcinoma is one of the most common malignancies of female genital tract and third most common worldwide. However, no widely accepted screening test for endometrial carcinoma exists. Papaninocolaou test is very commonly used test for screening of cervical carcinoma. It can be also used for detecting endometrial abnormalities. This book highlights the role of endometrial cells in Pap smears in prediction of endometrial pathology. Presence of abnormal endometrial cells in Pap smear has been reported to be associated with higher rate of significant endometrial pathology. Beautiful illustrations of normal, atypical and malignant endometrial cells in Pap smear are depicted in this book along with detailed histopathological images.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Dr. Manjari Kishore is working as an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Pathology, Noida International Institute of Medical Sciences (NIIMS), Noida International University (NIU), Greater Noida, U.P. She has done M.B.B.S from Guwahati Medical College, Guwahati, Assam and M.D. Pathology from Kasturba Medical College, KMC, Manipal (Udupi), Karnataka. She has worked as Senior Resident in Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi & Lady Hardinge Medical College & Hospital, New Delhi. She has a fellowship in Nephropathology, under ISN-ANIO, International Society of Nephropathology. Her areas of interest are oncopathology, renal pathology and molecular diagnostics. She has keen interest in teaching and research activities. She has published more than 75 papers in various national & international indexed journals. She has presented papers and poster at many national as well as international levels. Apart from academics, teaching, diagnostics & research, she has a keen interest in painting, writing poems.
