ABOUT THE BOOK
Saba Khan is a poet based in Lucknow, UP and writes in both English and Urdu. Through her poems, she demonstrates how nature is a subtle interplay of joy and sorrow. Also, how human relationships are complex entities, each deserving an ode to itself. She is a fashion designer (@forsubtleshades) and strives to preserve the fine traditions of Lucknow and it’s old world charms in the clothes and jewelry she designs.
Umair Khan grew up in Hyderabad, India and is based in the UK. He is a Paediatric Critical care Consultant in Scotland and also teaches undergraduate and postgraduate medical students at the University of Edinburgh. He has a keen interest in English and Urdu poetry and enjoys translating poems in both languages.
This book is a unique attempt at combining art and English and Urdu poetry . It features original poems written in English, accompanied by photographs or works of art which have inspired the poems. The translation of the poems from English to Urdu seeks to impress upon readers how both languages can be used to communicate effectively and a reminder that Urdu, as a language is alive and beautiful.
