Description
Dry Fruits and Wellness: Role in Nutrition and Disease Resilience delivers a rigorous, research-driven overview of how dried fruits can bolster human health and fortify resistance to chronic disease. Drawing on the latest findings in nutritional biochemistry, epidemiology, and food technology, this volume articulates the mechanisms by which bioactive compounds-phenolic acids, flavonoids, carotenoids, and essential micronutrients-synergize to attenuate oxidative stress, quell inflammation, and support metabolic homeostasis. With an emphasis on the Indian context, the book evaluates traditional and novel drying methodologies, contrasts nutrient retention across sun-, hot-air-, and freeze-drying techniques, and provides actionable guidance for producers and consumers alike. Each chapter synthesizes cutting-edge evidence-ranging from in vitro antioxidant assays to human intervention studies-culminating in strategic recommendations for integrating dried fruits into policy frameworks, clinical nutrition protocols, and everyday dietary regimens.
