‘Caged Beginning to Being the Change’ is an anthology of 39 thought-provoking poems that uncovers the harsh realities of child abuse while also offering insight into the journey of survivors towards healing and transformation. This anthology is presented in a unique format called ‘Infoetry’, a fusion of information and poetry. Prior to each poem, you will find a common myth about child abuse, along with a brief explanation aimed at dispelling it.

This anthology is an initiative of Muktha Foundation, which is an Indian not-for-profit organisation committed to preventing all forms of interpersonal abuse and violence. Muktha Foundation has a unique project called ‘Muktha Abhivyaktha’, which translates to ‘Boundless Expression’. The goal of this project is to employ various forms of expressive arts to drive dialogue on the prevention of interpersonal abuse and violence in the community, and this anthology is a part of it.

For this anthology, Muktha Foundation collaborated with community members from all walks of life to share their poems covering all facets of child abuse. The aspiration is that these poems will bust myths, promote awareness regarding child abuse, build empathy towards survivors, and, most importantly, inspire the reader to take action to prevent child abuse.
