This book is intended for undergraduate students of science aiming to develop understanding concepts of physics and related analytical skills. This book is structured to cover key aspects of the subject used in scientific applications.
Entitled “An Introduction to Mechanics, Thermodynamics & Optics for Undergraduate Students”, our journey starts from Elasticity and ends at very interesting optical phenomena diffraction. Physics is very vast subject and hence important topics have been shortlisted and included in this book. The concepts are explained in very lucid manner and the contents are optimised so that students will find it easy to digest.
Language used is simple and self explanatory. The book is in the question and answer format indicating the marking scheme of all Indian Universities. The problems have been graded according to their difficulty level. Illustrative examples are provided in the text both to clarify the concepts further.

About the Author

Dr. Manoj P. Mahajan is working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics, V. G. Vaze College of Arts, Science & Commerce (Autonomous), Mulund, Mumbai. He did his masters M.Sc (Physics) in Electronic & Communication as specialisation in the year 2010. He has 15 years of teaching experience. He has qualified Maharashtra State Eligibility test (MH-SET) MAY-2016. He has completed his Ph.D in the field of Nanotechnology from University of Mumbai in 2019. His research areas in Nanotechnology and Material Science. He has published 05 Research papers in International Journal and 01 Patent on his name. He has presented papers in 30 International and National Conference. He received first prize in poster presentation in the National conference “Advanced Analytical Tools for Material Characterization’’ (AATMC – 2018) organised by Birla College, Kalyan He has authored 02 Books for science and engineering undergraduates.
