About the book 

Surreal Morning is a collection of musings on life composed by Vipanjeet Kaur in free verse. The poems in this collection mirror the eternal verities of human life. These are expressive of an individual self that embarks on self-discovery and healing through poetry while reflecting on the illusive and transient nature of human life at the same time. As one lives through the spring and summer of life, one realizes that some dreams and aspirations remain unfulfilled. Life is what we do with the splinters of these shattered dreams – we let them lodge in our hearts or we create an artistic pattern out of them. The advent of autumn in life is a surreal moment sandwiched between youthful aspirations and sagacity. It is time to be introspective and reflect on the past events of life; a juncture where both frustrated and fulfilled dreams have a rendezvous with a broadening perspective. As a result of this awakening, rotten dreams are interrupted and shed like autumn leaves to open vistas and create space for newer more comprehensive vision in order to recover one’s usual sangfroid and embark on an enlightening journey towards eternity.
