About the author
The author, Bishwanath Puranmalka, 86, has to his name a string of degrees – FCA, FCS and LLB. Starting his professional career from humble beginnings, he was one of the chosen few to serve the legendary doyen of Indian industry Shri G.D. Birla, as he envisioned and built his magnificent business empire.
In his personal life, Puranmalka nurtured a large family of multifaceted professionals with a love that can only inspire. His wisdom and financial integrity are widely acknowledged by his peers and juniors.
An extract from his lifetime achievement award for serving the Birla group across a swathe of businesses reads thus, describing him: “An architect, an implementer, a committed loyalist, a champion of talent, you have been a true gentleman. A remarkable person, from your book of life thus far and in the future, guided as it is by a moral compass.”
