Animal Rights is the belief or idea that some or all animals are entitled to their basic rights, such as the possession of their lives and other essential needs for survival, and that these rights should be protected. It is the belief that all animals, like humans, are born free and that we should not subject them to exploitation for our own purposes or desires. Animal rights advocates strive to ensure that animals have the same rights as humans, including the right not to be killed or tortured at the hands of humans. Is it wrong to slaughter animals in order to feed ourselves? If you are a vegetarian or an animal lover, you may consider the slaughter of animals for our food to be unethical and immoral. This book further deals with the current status of animals in the state of Assam.

About the author

Ms. Upasana Borah is currently pursuing her B.B.A LL. B (Hons) in Constitutional Law from N.E.F Law College affiliated to Gauhati University, Assam (2016–2021). She holds the title of ‘Young Researcher’ from the Institute of Scholars. During her graduation, she was actively engaged in the research area. She had started her field as a researcher, blog and content writer in various online law platforms like Lex Life India, Advocates Pedia Foundation, Lex Jura Law Journal Law Times Journal.
