Spirituality as a subject is one that is still unexplored and yet explored to quite an extent. A lot has been written but as it is said that knowledge is endless, hence every new book on spirituality will have something new and a different approach to the subject being comprehended. The same is the case with RK Sharma’s, “Establishing Spirituality: New Spiritual Path to Meet God” Published by Evincepub Publishing, wherein there is not just a clear defined path to reach or meet God rather, the author shares 25 revelations which reveal about God and the ways to get closer to Him.
The author takes up a simple technique to explain his ideas and experiences in the broadly divided 9 chapters with a foreword and revelations written separately. He begins the book with the topic of “The Beauty of the New Spiritual Path” wherein he states God’s mantra as, “I Will Become a Proper Human Being”. This is the guiding spirit in the light of which the book’s ideas revolve. In a very pragmatic manner, the author also points out that the mention of scriptures etc. is not a part of this book, the approach would rather be entirely different and unique. He says,
“No reference of existing religions, faiths, scriptures, saints, etc., is given because nothing has been taken from them.”
This is where the readers’ are convinced that what they are going to read is entirely different and something they have not read about earlier. The reading of the book in most probabilities turns out to be promising and enlightening. In the first chapter, the author talks about the methods to seek the grace of God. He clearly mentions that the path of spirituality is not limited to any particular faith or religion. It is for all who want to pursue it and open to all who want to get closer to the supreme force, God.
In the next chapter, he talks about the 25 revelations he had mentioned earlier and gives a detailed commentary and explanation for all those in order to make the readers understand the things in a much better manner. The readers are likely to learn a lot of new things and will get a chance to familiarize themselves with new concepts based on the experience of the author. This is perhaps the most detailed chapters in the book. The readers are also likely to get the opportunity to learn things that would make them a better human being which would eventually bring them closer to God. For the convenience of the readers, the author also tells about the availability of the revelations and their explanations on his YouTube channel. Therefore, all those who seek for a more concrete understanding can also check the channel and enrich their learning in a much better manner.
In the following chapter, Sharma answers the expected probable questions that the readers may have in their minds or perhaps the common questions that keep coming in the course of discussions. Most of the questions contain answers to many things that have not been explored by humans or the ones which would be unknown to many. Readers may or may not read any other part of the book but this part is significant as there are many answers which could lead to an enhancement of the knowledge of the readers and a deeper understanding of spirituality as a concept and as a whole. In the 30 questions that he answers, there is not just the crux of spirituality but the readers also get to know about the author and his views on various things that are raised in the questions.
In the 4th chapter of “Establishing Spirituality”, the author answers things and questions related to himself and his life. Since the book is inspired from his spiritual experience and meeting with God, this book again becomes important for every reader as in today’s world when everyone is materialistic and driven by money, there are very few who can get this experience. Hence, the book becomes a document of legacy.
In the next chapter, the author talks about the new spiritual path wherein he gives his details in case the readers want to connect with him and share or talk about things on a personal level. This is sort of a conclusion to the prevailing thoughts throughout the text and the readers are brought back to the reality smoothly after an enlightening experience and a powerful journey. The readers are likely to feel the effects of such an experience on their personalities and the resultant impact on their lives.
Sharma keeps the language simple and easy for the readers to understand. He keeps the explanation of his ideas brief, concise and to the point which helps the readers remain focused and in tune with the author’s explanation to various things that he mentions. Apart from this, since the book is based on the concept of spirituality, the readers get an enlightening experience as they go through the book at a steady pace. The readers would feel the book to be more useful if they read the book more than once and at breaks so that they are able to understand and absorb maximum contents of the book and it would be even better if they keep it for their relaxation time so that their free minds and feel the true essence of the book clearly.
