Dr. Arjun Y. Pangannavar’s this book is second part of “ Shrimad Valmiki Ramayana Maha-Kaavya Darshanm, ” already published, as ‘Part -1’; it focuses on the original epic of ancient poet Valmiki. This second part of the book comprised Sunder Kaanda and Yuddha Kaanda; In Sundar Kaanda, Hanuman’s venture of crossing Indian Ocean to reach Lanka-City State, searching Sita in nook and corner of Lanka-city, enjoying of beauty of LankaCity, meeting Sita and conveying her Rama’s massege, getting massager for Rama from Sita, destroying of Ashoka Garden, killing of Rakshas-heroes, burning Lanka-City and returning to Kishkinda with his fellow-vanaras is explained. In Yuddha Kaanda, Rama’s march, with vanaraa and bear-armies and heroes, towards Lanka-City, building a bridge across ocean to reach Lanka, waging war with Ravana and his army, conquering the war and killing of Ravana, coronation of Vibhishana, retuning to Ayodhya-city and Rama’s coronation, these events are explained. Explanatory notes are given with concrete inferences on every incidence depicted by the Sage Valmiki. The books tried its best to give original picture of Rama’s good deeds that may become the lesson to the youths to imbibe the human values of all-time; This epic poem, in folk-style Kannada language of north Karnataka, written based on original epic poem Ramayana of Ancient poet Sage Valmiki. It could also be a good reference book to researchers who is doing research on Valmiki’s Ramayana.
About the Author
Prof, Dr. Arjun Y Pangannavar is a versatile writer in Kannada and English language. He had born on 29th June 1951 at Gokak-Falls in labor-class tribal family. Shri Yallappa Pangannavar and Smt Holhevva were his parents; He studied Economics, English and Kannada Literature at graduation level and MA & PhD in economics. He started his lecturer career from 1977 and retired (2011) as Associated Professor of Economics and Principal (2014) from a reputed graduate-colleges. He is guide to PhD research scholars from Bharathiar University Coimbatore (TN) India—one is awarded PhD. Kannada University Hampi, Karnataka has nominated him as a member of Advisory Committee, The Chair of Valmiki Studies. Micro-finance, women empowerment, rural development and economic issues are the special area of his research. He has presented research papers in national and international seminars, conferences and published in national and international journals, 11 research works in ResearchGate wherein 51+ thousand scholars, researchers and professors read and share his work world-wide; his works have been cited in a good number of theses and research papers, world-wide. He writes articles regularly for Kannada-monthly ‘Valmiki Karnataka’. He wrote 25 books, including economics and literature and already published his research works on great epic on ‘Valmiki Ramayana’ in folk-style Kannada, and the book “Shrimad Valmiki Ramayana Maha-Kaavya Darshanm (Part-1)”, now it is`Part-2′ of the same great epic that focuses on the original epic of ancient poet Valmiki with summary, discussion and analysis. This part-2 of the book comprised Sundar Kaanda, and Yuddha Kaanda.
