Description
About The Book :
Khayal, meaning thought, is a collection of poems and spoken words written in the quiet hours of the night. Moving between anger and tenderness, fear and hope, Eram Eqbal gives voice to what is hard to say aloud: the fear a woman carries each time she steps out of her home, the ache of love and loss, the courage to fall and rise again, and the long search for one’s own self. These pieces speak of women’s safety and strength, love and letting go, ambition and the corporate journey, and the thoughts that arrive at midnight. Some are raw, and some are gentle, but all of them are honest. Khayal is for anyone who has ever written down what they could not say.
About The Author :
Eram Eqbal is from Gaya, a town in Bihar. She is a development professional working in the social development sector. She studied for an MA in Development Communication at the A.J.K. Mass Communication Research Centre (AJK MCRC), Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, and is now based in Mumbai. Her work and writing meet at the same point: people, voices, and the stories that need to be heard. She writes poems and stories as a way of thinking aloud about women’s empowerment and safety, love, reflection, her journey through the corporate and development world, and everyday life. Much of her writing happens late at night, and she shares it online as Midnight @ Eram. Khayal brings together her poems and spoken words.
