Dr. B.A. Mahalakshmi Prasad is an educator, researcher, author, poet, painter, musician, and literary enthusiast whose work reflects a lifelong commitment to education, language, literature, and the arts. She holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics and has pursued advanced research in speech and language sciences, sociolinguistics, communication, and pedagogy. Her scholarly contributions include research publications on language acquisition, English language teaching, communication, and educational methodologies.
Passionate about nurturing young minds and promoting inclusive education, Dr. Mahalakshmi Prasad believes that learning flourishes through empathy, creativity, and innovation. Her work bridges the gap between academic research and classroom practice, offering meaningful insights for teachers, special educators, counsellors, parents, and students.
Beyond academia, Dr. Mahalakshmi Prasad writes under the pen name Mylara. Her novels, poetry, and reflective writings explore the richness of human emotions, relationships, resilience, spirituality, and social values. An accomplished artist, she practises the traditional Mysore School of Painting, preserving and celebrating one of India’s finest classical art traditions. She is also a trained Carnatic vocalist and a veena player, finding inspiration in the harmony of literature, music, and visual art. These diverse artistic pursuits enrich her creative expression and reflect her deep appreciation of India’s cultural heritage.
