Ten Inches – A Novel of Bada Shehar

Description

Ten Inches: A Novel of Bada Shehar by Shekhar Nerala is a novel about a tea vendor, a measuring tape, and a line nobody told him about.
For twenty-two years, Raju Prasad has served chai from his cart at the Kali Gali junction, where clerks, students, shopkeepers and old women have made his corner into something the city never planned and does not officially recognise. Then a survey party arrives, and Raju’s cart is found to stand ten inches beyond a boundary he has never seen.
What follows draws in the inspector who serves the notice and the young lawyer who takes the case, in a story about livelihood, paperwork, and the distance between being correct and being just.
